Smart Choice Contracting is one of only ten Owens Corning Platinum contractors in Huntington, NY. Asphalt is the only roof we install, and we complete almost every replacement job in one day.

Ask about 0% financing for 5 years or a 15% discount Veteran and first responder discountPlatinum Preferred is Owens Corning's premium contractor level. Only 10 roofers on all of Long Island hold it, and we are one of them.
Finance your roof through our lender and you get five full years at 0% interest, with zero down. You pay only the price of the roof, split into monthly payments, with no interest added on top.
We carry insurance that covers roofing work itself, not the general contractor coverage that quietly excludes it. That difference protects you.
We offer it on every roof. It covers the materials and our workmanship, and Owens Corning backs it.
Take our 5-year financing and you put nothing down to start. If you'd rather not finance, the only deposit we ask for is $200, and you pay the rest after the work is done and you've seen it.
Every single review we have ever received is a five-star review.
Roofing is what we do every day. We also handle the siding and gutters that work alongside it.

We replace asphalt roofs across Huntington, and most go on in a single day. You choose between two complete Owens Corning systems, our own crew installs it, and we back it with up to a 50-year warranty.
Asphalt Shingle Installation
When a repair is genuinely the right answer, we repair it, from failed flashing to wind-driven leaks. Michael Falco inspects the roof himself and tells you the truth about whether you need a repair or a replacement.

Leak Detection
We install vinyl siding with the same crew, and we finish to the same cleanup standard as every roof we do.

We install gutter guards that keep leaves out and water moving, so your drip edge and fascia stay dry through Long Island's wet seasons.
Michael Falco will come out, look at your roof, and tell you honestly. If a repair will do, he will say so.
Smart Choice Contracting installs asphalt shingle roofs in Huntington and across Long Island, and that is all we do. Michael Falco has spent over 26 years mastering one trade instead of dabbling in many, and our crew installs asphalt roofs every single day. That focus is why our roofs last.
We are not the cheapest roofer in Huntington, and we do not try to be. Our customers are the homeowners who want the best for their house, and who take the time to compare what they are actually getting for their money. They choose us because we deliver real value and a roof that stays dry.

Most Huntington roofs do not fail because the shingles wear out. They fail because the nails rust. Huntington, Northport, and Cold Spring Harbor all sit within a couple of miles of the water, and the salt air eats the cheap electro-galvanized nails most roofers use in about 14 to 15 years. The shingles are often still fine. The rusted nails back out, the shingles lift, and wind-driven rain finds its way inside.
Owens Corning rates its shingles for 130 mph wind with four nails per shingle. We use six. We also use hot-dip galvanized nails, so the salt air cannot rust them out.
Ice and water shield is a rubber leak barrier, and code requires it to reach two feet past your outside wall. Most roofers lay only three feet of it at the gutter. We lay six feet, and up to nine where the overhang is wide, so ice dams cannot push water inside.
Shingles contain copper granules, and aluminum flashing reacts with them and slowly breaks down. Many roofers still fit about twelve dollars of aluminum and call it done. We use copper on every masonry chimney, so the flashing outlasts the roof around it.
When a chimney sits at the bottom edge of a roof, snow and ice pile up behind it. We build a cricket, a small second roof that sends water around the chimney instead of into the house.
New York building code requires drip edge, and roughly half of roofers still skip it. Without it, water works into the fascia boards, rots them, and eventually pulls the gutters off the house. That repair costs far more than the drip edge ever would have.
A ridge vent does nothing without intake air, the same way you cannot breathe out without breathing in. Where a house has no soffit vents, we install an Owens Corning InFlo vent so the roof can breathe. Done right, ventilation is the difference between a roof that lasts 12 years and one that lasts 50.
The first row of shingles is what wind lifts first. We use a pre-cut starter strip with a factory seal that locks that row down. Many roofers just flip a regular shingle sideways instead, which only does half the job.
We take the ice and water shield, underlayment, starter, shingles, ventilation, and ridge cap from one Owens Corning system. We never mix in cheap generics.

We offer two complete Owens Corning roof packages. We install both with the same care and the same crew. The difference is in the materials and the warranty.
You get Owens Corning Duration shingles, Rhino ice and water shield, and ProArmor underlayment, with a Limited Lifetime material warranty. It covers manufacturer defects 100% for the first ten years, then tapers down through year fifty.
You get everything in the Standard system, and we upgrade the leak barrier and underlayment to WeatherLock Mat and Deck Defense. It also adds the Owens Corning Platinum Warranty: fifty years of 100% material coverage, plus fifty years of workmanship coverage that Owens Corning backs itself.
With most roofers, a workmanship warranty is only good while they are still in business. If they close in two years, it is gone. The Platinum Warranty is different. Because we are an Owens Corning Platinum contractor, Owens Corning stands behind our work. Even if we stopped roofing tomorrow, Owens Corning would send someone to fix or replace your roof at no charge.
Platinum Preferred is Owens Corning's premium contractor level, and we earned it by completing their training.
Owens Corning trained us on every component of their Total Protection Roofing System. That is why we choose the parts of your roof to work together, instead of buying them separately.
Owens Corning trained us on their SureNail Technology, the reinforced nailing strip that helps every fastener land where it actually holds.
Owens Corning trained us specifically on how roofing, ventilation, and attic insulation work together to improve your home's energy efficiency and comfort.
We took Owens Corning's recycling pledge, so we recycle your old shingles wherever that is a viable option locally, instead of sending everything to the dump.
A new roof should not take over your home for a week. We tear off and fully install about 98% of our roofs in one day, with Michael Falco on site and the same crew on every job.
The materials and the dumpster usually arrive the day before. Our crew is on site by 7:30, and Michael Falco checks every material, quantity, and color himself before a single shingle comes off.
We put up tarps and cover the shrubs and landscaping. A dedicated cleanup crew keeps the ground clear all day, so our roofers can stay focused on the roof itself.
Once the old roof is off, we replace any wood that will not hold a nail. Your first three sheets of plywood are free, and we only bring up extra sheets if your roof genuinely needs them.
We install the new system in order: drip edge, ice and water shield, underlayment, starter, shingles, ventilation, and ridge cap. Then we run a magnet over the whole property to pick up every last nail. We are usually done by four o'clock.
We quote larger or complex roofs (steep pitch, many dormers and valleys, or over roughly 4,500 square feet) as a two-day job up front. We never leave a roof open overnight.

"I can put a beautiful, watertight roof on your house. But if I leave a mess behind, that's what you'll remember."
Michael Falco, Owner

When you call Smart Choice Contracting, you deal with Michael Falco himself, not a commissioned salesperson. He inspects every roof, writes every estimate, and is on site for the work. In over 26 years he has built this company on two things: doing the job right the first time, and sitting down with homeowners to walk them through exactly what their roof needs and why. He asks for a $200 deposit, and you pay the balance when we finish.
"I look at a callback as a profit killer. So I put more into your roof up front than the other guys do, so I never have to come back."Michael Falco, Owner
We build roofs so homeowners never have to call us back. Michael Falco has installed roofs for over 26 years, and in the seven-plus years since he started Smart Choice Contracting, exactly one of our roofs has leaked. We caught it and fixed it the same week. That record is not luck. It comes from the hot-dip nails, the copper flashing, the extra ice and water shield, and the same crew on every job.
Michael Falco has also replaced about 50 roofs on Long Island that were less than ten years old, every one of them installed by another contractor. When he asks those homeowners how they chose that roofer, the answer is almost always the same: he was the cheap guy.
A typical roof on an average 2,000 square foot home runs between $11,000 and $13,000, depending on which of the two systems you choose and how complex your roof is. We price by the job, not by the square foot, because two roofs of the same size can need very different amounts of copper, drip edge, and flashing. We itemize every estimate, so you see exactly what you are paying for.
0% financing for 5 years. We offer it through Service Finance, a third-party lender, with zero down. A $15,000 roof works out to about $250 a month.
Prefer not to finance? Take 15% off the price instead.
Lower monthly options. We can stretch that same roof down to around $168 a month.
Fast approval. A decision usually comes back in about a minute, online or in person.
Veteran and first responder discount. We offer one on every job.
